Tower of Babel

"And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do." - Genesis 11: 6 (KJV)

"I really think that's the hallmark of a great species. Does God fear you?

We are terrible gods to many. We don't think much of the Triad - I even feel some tinge of guilt at their sad, sorry state. Ages ago, before your kind even learned to speak, they had proud elements, and a little ingenuity. What little their was to truly respect about a civilization, we broke and culled out of them. And so we were left with jokes of species that, when they finally faced you, might as well have been flour trying to put out a candle. That worked well - Adam died and you took his ship.

Thousands of races came and went, serving our needs dutifully. Occasionally, they would be called upon to crush such a threat as yourselves, and those that thought too much about it were extinguished and replaced.

I think, deep down, many of us knew what was going on. Nothing we tried worked. We ate people, then worlds, then stars. A few of us wanted to consume your entire Galaxy. You might still find the husk of that attempt circling A-star... None of us dares approach that relic any longer.

We didn't do this because we feared them...

We feared you. The ones who finished their Tower of Babel before we could return to scatter them.
