The tlorai are an ancient race, now presumed long dead, though it is almost certain that they originated within the Milky Way. If true, they would likely be the first sapient spacefaring race within the galaxy. Currently, the only memory of their passing is the Centaurus Relic, an ancient device millions of years old.
It is generally assumed that something must have obliterated them, or, perhaps, they simply let themselves die off. The mere existence of the Centaurus Relic, and the fact that it was targetted at such a system, suggests that they were quite like humans in biological composition.
