Galaxy

Sometimes called an island Universe. With the 23rd century understanding of existence, it's not entirely innacurate.

The Milky Way galaxy is the dominant member of the Local Group of galaxies, of which Andromeda and Triangulum are the only other significant members. It is not believed that any other galaxy in the group currently harbors sapient life, although a number of more distant galaxies have been identified as prime candidates.
