Humans use two forms of 'minute', though the most common one is the familiar one - 60 seconds or 1/60 of a hour. It is also considered a unit of distance - if something is about a minute away, it refers to a light-minute or nearly 18 million kilometers.

The Arean calendar specifies extended seconds, minutes, and hours that are 1.027491251041666... times the length of their counterparts.
