Usually, if a distance is given in feet, it refers to light-nanoseconds rather than imperial or metric feet, though the unit is close. Sometimes termed the 'lens' foot, for light nanosecond, it is about .98357 imperial feet or 11.803 inches. This standard was adopted by the Solar Consortium before the Purge, and this general usage of it remains among Diasporic humanity.
