Perhaps the most powerful weapon available to humankind, the tachyon cannon is a satmet that causes a specific tachyon interference along a line of effect. Namely, the inversion of charge, causing a significant quantity of matter in a localized region of space to become antimatter.
The mobius patterns are defense against this effect, but no purely technological defense is known, though damage can be mitigated with exotics, and it is plausible that smaller cannons may not be so effective against large, exotically constructed ships.
