Clarke Ring

A Clarke Ring is an artificial, geostationary ring in orbit around a main, typically terrestrial body. Currently, the only such megastructures are the Martian Ring and the Terran Ring, the latter of which is considered to be one of the greatest feats of the 23rd century.
