Jovian Massacre

The second of the Solarian Battles. In the early 23rd century, after the husk that would become Ouranos Prime was revealed, the Solar Consortium sent a fleet of ships to destroy it. They never even managed to cross Jupiter's orbit - the satmet's tachyon cannon eradicated the entire fleet in minutes, leaving no survivors.

This began the Consortium-Prime War, as it was seen as an extremely excessive show of force. The decision to eliminate all attacking ships was in order to make it clear that a very large fleet could indeed be annihilated.
