Until the Purge in the 23rd century, Earth was the home of the overwhelmingly vast majority of humanity. The entire rest of mankind's territory could not account for a billion souls, while Gaea herself was pushing fifteen, and was still growing - if slowly. It was possible to walk from one end of the world to another through the massive arcology system, never setting a foot outside, yet, if one was fast enough, they would always cast a shadow from the Sun.

Many great works were built on Earth. The Terran Ring, called the Scar of the Sky by exiles and others, so overwhelmed alien visitors that they feared to assault the bastion of humanity, perhaps delaying the Purge by a decade due solely to the nascent civilization's raw industrial focus.

  • Adjectives: Terran, Terrestrial, Tellurian, Gaian, Earthling (joke)
  • Names: Terra (Later Roman), Tellus (Early Roman), Gaea (Greek), Diqiu (Mandarin), Eretz (Hebrew), Dhara (Sanskrit) ...

Moved by Eve along with Sol, the current status of Earth is unknown. The exiles were not slain after the Purge, being considered harmless by most of the assailants. Instead, the system was fortified against all manner of intrusion after humanity fled, and after the parent star vanished, it is rumored to be lost forever. After a millenia of searching, the diasporic remnants of humanity have yet to find their homeworld, leaving some to believe it destroyed, though most refuse to give up hope.

For her part, Eve never discusses the matter, and if anyone has the ability to make her talk, they have not done so.
