Jump to navigationJump to searchShades are the most common type of wraith, and are essentially oversized mobius patterns. They require an atmosphere of some sort - any sort - in order to survive. They cannot last long in water or solids, and passing through these things is quite painful. In a vacuum, they quickly snuff themselves out. What exactly makes lasers hurt them so is only speculated, but it is believed that lasers interfere with the rather delicate interior workings of these beings in some manner. Shades appear as quiet apparitions of varying, but regular, colors, though some are capable of making noise.
A Shade can form a symbiosis with a human in order to form a type of infested called a corrupted.
